Current openings
Senior QA Engineer (Automation)
The Role
This is a rare chance to own QA end-to-end in a company that's serious about it.
You'll inherit the beginnings of automation and take it to maturity including integrating it with our CI/CD pipelines, solving some hard automation problems (including legacy systems), and shaping how AI fits into our testing approach. There's no playbook handed to you. You'll write it.
Beyond the technical work, you'll be the person who embeds a quality mindset across the whole of engineering, working alongside developers, not behind them, and influencing how we build as much as how we test.
We’re looking for a self-starting QA leader who thrives on ownership and is ready to be our sole specialist. You don’t wait for permission to innovate: you’re a pragmatic collaborator who works alongside engineers to drive quality, not just police it.
What You'll be Doing
- Own and evolve test automation framework to build on what exists, finish what's started, and extend coverage where it’s needed most.
- Drive CI/CD integration of automated tests, moving us from where we are to where we need to be
- Develop and execute automated tests across APIs, web applications, and system integrations, covering functional, regression, and performance testing
- Establish test reporting and observability practices so everyone knows where we stand on quality.
- Work with engineers across the org to champion shift-left practices and a quality-first mindset
- Spot quality risks early and provide clear guidance on mitigation
- Support release validation, and UAT coordination
- Define and uplift our automation standards, practices, and tooling
- Be the advocate for AI driven testing where it makes a real difference.
- Document test approaches, frameworks, and outcomes so everyone is on the same page.
- Continuously improve testing processes and ways of working
What You'll Bring
Essential:
- Strong hands-on automation experience with the likes of Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium (Java-based frameworks preferred)
- API testing experience (REST APIs, Postman/Newman, RestAssured or similar)
- Solid programming or scripting skills. Familiarity with Java, C++ or Go is a plus
- Experience building and maintaining automated regression suites
- Experience with integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Comfortable working with legacy systems and tackling systems where automation is a challenge
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery and shift-left testing principles
Desirable:
- Familiarity with authentication and identity systems (SSO, MFA, OAuth)
- BDD experience (Cucumber / Given-When-Then style frameworks)
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted testing tools and approaches
