New Sales Director for SMX

New Zealand anti-spam and anti-virus managed service company, SMX, has appointed Hamish Macleod to a new role of sales director, responsible for expanding the company's local business and driving international growth.

His previous roles have included five years as general manager and vice president of international sales for PureDepth - a New Zealand technology start up company now listed in the United States.

He has also held senior sales and marketing management roles with Mitsubishi Electric and Compaq Computer in New Zealand and Australia and Asia Pacific, including 2 years in technology financing.

"SMX has an anti-spam and anti-virus service which is ahead of the market in a number of key areas," Hamish Macleod said. "The international potential is significant and there are already offshore sales through CMC in India and South East Asia with Symantec. This is a great time to be joining the company and leveraging my experience in taking New Zealand technology to a world market."

Managing Director and Co-founder of SMX, Jesse Ball says he is delighted to have Hamish on the team: "Hamish has been highly successful in growing local technology companies from start-up to listing. His skills and experience will be invaluable – particularly as we look to leverage our existing international sales and accelerate our growth."
