Grant Ardern, ICT Systems Manager at Pay of Plenty DHB says spam had been a significant issue for some time. Previous anti-spam and virus solutions were ineffective with the most recent solution - an outsourced mail filtering service - deleting bona fide messages but allowing spam to slip through.

"We knew we didn't want to maintain our own internal mail scrubbing [filtering] software, so we decided to trial the SMX service. We were delighted with the trial and quickly signed up for the service," Ardern says.

Now that the spam is not entering their network, not only are the 1200 email users happier but IT staff can focus their time on more important areas than investigating missing emails.
